METHODOLOGY
- Cans are counted from member position lines, which are self-reported and, in this particular category, never exaggerated.
- Days on shelf is measured from the last time a line moved. A line that has not moved in sixty days has not been forgotten. It has been considered, repeatedly, and declined.
- The Reserve’s balance sheet is excluded from the office count. It is a central bank, not a fridge, however similar the contents.
- The index is not seasonally adjusted. There is no season in which this improves.
