The Manhattan grid sits about twenty-nine degrees off true north, so the floor is not a bounding box, it is a rotated quadrilateral. A bounding box would illegally admit parts of Chelsea and the Village. Membership is checked against the polygon at admission and three applicants on the wrong side of Seventh have been turned away with regret and without appeal. The eastern edge runs down the centreline of Park Avenue South. A petition to extend it to Lexington was tabled, then tabled again, and is now simply where petitions go.

Every seat on the floor, plotted. Bubble area scales with the size of the fridge, and colour runs from amber to red as lemon takes it over. A standing order of nothing but variety packs converges on a quarter lemon, so the red ones have been buying packs a long time. The dashed bubble is the Reserve, which is seated but is not a member.

Trades on the same book as everyone else, which is the point. A backstop that sits outside the market cannot unstick a cycle inside it.
